A 23-year-old Centralia man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison when pleading guilty to one of two Class X predatory criminal sexual assault to a victim under 13 charges pending against him.
Adam Prusz entered the plea in Jefferson County Court. As part of the plea, the second count was dropped.
Mt. Vernon Police say the investigation began at the end of December when an 11-year-old girl came forward about the alleged sexual acts that had reportedly occurred multiple times between April 2020 and September 2021.
Prusz had moved to Centralia by the time police received an arrest warrant and he was arrested on the outstanding warrant by Centralia Police on March 28th. He had remained in custody at the Jefferson County Jail in lieu of $200,000 bond since his arrest.
