A Wamac woman was injured in a single-vehicle crash on Odin Road a quarter-mile north of the Community Beech Road at mid-afternoon on Tuesday.
Caitlyn Brow told Odin Fire officials that she lost control when swerving to miss an animal, left the roadway, struck a culvert, went airborne, and traveled down an embankment, with the vehicle coming to rest on its top.
Odin Fire Chief Greg Smith says Brow was able to crawl up a path back to the roadway where help was called. He reports it was almost impossible to see the car from the roadway.
Brow was first taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia and then transported by air ambulance to a St. Louis Hospital for treatment of injuries.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is handling the crash but reports are not yet available.
