The SC 13u Storm Chasers opened up the very tough GMB 4th of July Bash at the O’Fallon Family Sports Park dropping their opener to Recruits Baseball 6-4.
The Storm Chasers trailed 6-1 heading into their final at bat before plating 3 runs and having the tying 2 runs in scoring position before falling just short in their comeback bid.
Avery Gullion was the starting pitcher and threw very well for SC going 2 innings, allowing 1 hit and 1 run with 5 strikeouts. At the plate, Austin Grieve went 2-2 with 2 runs scored. SC got RBI from Luke Shumate, Trent Ingram and Payton Gullion along with Kaiden Harrell.
SC returns to pool play this afternoon at 4:30 when they play Gateway Greys before elimination play tomorrow.
