Kelley G. Smith, 58, of Centralia, passed away Friday, June 23, 2023.www.sutherlandfuneralhome.com and the Sutherland Funeral Home Facebook Page.
Kelley was born November 14, 1964, the daughter of Merrell “Gene” Petrea and Carolyn (Haack) Petrea. She married Dawayn Joseph “Joe” Smith on October 20, 2012, and he survives her in Centralia. In addition to her husband, Kelley is survived by her children: Douglas Smith and wife Sarah of Decatur, Ashley Bryant and husband Jeremy of Centralia, and Jason Smith and wife Angie of Centralia, six grandchildren: Jackson, Delaney, Andrew, Lillie, Matthew, and Alayna; and two siblings: Todd Petrea and wife Latisha of Herbon, KY and Christy Petrea and significant other Danny White of IN. Kelley was preceded in death by her parents Merrell “Gene” and Carolyn Petrea and one infant sister: Carol Gene Petrea. Kelley was a social and friendly woman. She enjoyed gardening. She was a people person, who always had a smile on her face. She had an overly kind heart. Children always had a special place in Kelley’s heart, and she loved to work with children. She worked as a paraprofessional for 27 years. In her free time, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her. Funeral services for Kelley Smith will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at the Rock Church in Centralia at 12:00 pm with Pastor Steve Upchurch officiating. Visitation will be held at the church before the service on Thursday, June 29, 2023, starting at 10:00 am and ending at the time of service at 12:00 pm.
