A Salem home received minor damage in a fire that damaged a small area of an outside wall.
The fire was at the Nicole Edwards home in the 1200 block of West Spruce Street.
Salem Fire Protection District officials say they believe a possible electrical short caused the wiring to get hot and set some hay bales outside the home on fire. The fire then burned up to the siding. A 2 by 2 foot area was damaged before firemen extinguished the fire.
The fire call came in at 7:06 Sunday night. Firemen were on the scene for about a half hour.
