A house that was badly damaged by fire Friday morning caught fire again just before midnight.

Centralia City Firefighters were called back to the home at 528 South Maple Street just before midnight when flames were found shooting out from around the front door.   The fire is believed to have rekindled.   To hopefully avoid any future problems, the remaining ceilings were pulled down to expose the blown in insulation to make sure none of it was smoldering.

All available Centralia City Firemen were called to the scene.   While they got a quick knockdown, they were on the scene for about two hours bringing down the rest of the ceilings that were not removed during the initial Friday morning fire.

At that time, the home already had heavy damage and was possibly a total loss.  The cause of the original fire is listed as undetermined, but could possibly be electrical.

The occupant of the home had passed away a few weeks ago and the home had been vacant.

The house is owned by Janice Woods.
