A Jefferson County Jury deliberated three and a half hours Thursday afternoon before finding a 28-year-old Mt. Vernon man guilty of predatory sexual assault and two counts of possession of child pornography with a victim under 13.
The three Class X felony charges were among nine indictments brought against Cody Rector. He’ll be sentenced on August 18th following a pre-sentence investigation. Rector was cleared of the six other indictments, five counts of child pornography, and one for predatory criminal sexual assault.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department Detective Division led the investigation that included the execution of a search warrant at Rector’s home on Old Union Road.
