Betty Ann Crim, 80, of Belle Rive, Illinois, passed away at 8:15 am June 19, 2023, at Mount Vernon Countryside Manor in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
She was born September 10, 1942, in Woodlawn, Illinois to the late Edward and Beulah (Wilson) Downes. Betty married Henry Clay Crim on January 12, 1956, in Mount Vernon. They celebrated 55 years of marriage before his passing on November 19, 2011.
Betty is survived by her children, Cindy McNeil and husband, Mike of Belle Rive, Teresa Withrow and husband, Vernon of Bluford, and Matthew Crim and wife, Tara of Australia; grandchildren, Kendra Aydt and husband, Mike, Kevin Withrow and wife, Ashley, Kurtus Withrow and wife, Ambur, Kody Withrow and wife, Amber, Jesse Crim, Charles Crim, Gage Crim, Harrison Crim, and Tristan Wiggins and husband, Mark; great-grandchildren, Gracie Pate, Savannah Pate, Roman Withrow, Emerey Withrow, Deliah Withrow, Zaydun Withrow, Zayla Withrow, Waylon Withrow, Waverly Withrow, Willa Withrow, Wrett Withrow, Tessa Wiggins, and a new great-grandchild due in October.
Betty was a Christian and attended Mount Vernon Baptist Temple. She enjoyed collecting cameos, quilting in her spare time, and spending time with her beloved dog, Cookie. She will be deeply missed.
A Visitation will be held Friday, June 23, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Newell Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 11:00 am at Mount Catherine Church in Woodlawn, Illinois with Reverend Tim Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Catherine Cemetery in Woodlawn, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Betty’s honor to Mount Catherine Cemetery.
