Carrie Sue Mount, 82, of Kell, passed away at 2:22 a.m., Sunday, June 18, 2023, at her home.
She was born March 29, 1941, in Raccoon Township, Illinois, the daughter of Floyd and Mona Belle (March) Purdue. On June 6, 1957, in Salem, Illinois, she married Charles Edward Mount, and he survives in Kell.
Mrs. Mount attended Kell Grade School, and Salem High School, and then attended beauty school in Centralia. She worked as a beautician for many years. She attended Dix Methodist Church and was a member of Kell Methodist Church until it closed. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, and gardening, and loved cooking big meals for her family.
In addition to her husband, Charles Edward Mount, she is survived by two daughters, Alicia Riley of Evansville, Indiana, and Sara Wilson and husband Guy of Kell; six grandchildren, Emily Ibarra and husband Robert, Becky McMeen and husband Jason, Troy Wilson and wife Lindsey, Charles Wilson and wife Brianna, Jesse Wilson and fiancée Hannah, and Lindsey Kraus and husband Jared; eleven great-grandchildren, Alex Martin, Jonah Martin, Brayden Riley and fiancée Hannah Butts, Brooklyn McMeen, Aubrey Wilson, Benton Wilson, Jack Wilson, Chloe Wilson, Skylar Wilson, Rhett Kraus, and Leighton Kraus; and three sisters, Lucy Ervin, Linda Hanna and husband John, and Billie Bryant and husband Denny.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Mona Purdue.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Mount will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at Purdue Cemetery, with USAF Colonel Christopher Bryant officiating.
