Governor JB Pritzker is touting new investments in early childhood programs.
First off, the Governor says a program that was due to end this month will be extended through the end of the year, providing three months of daycare assistance to unemployed parents trying to get back to work.
Governor Pritzker says providers participating in the state’s Child Care Assistance Program will receive a higher rate of reimbursement.
“That’s money of course to deal with inflationary cost but also more money to pay staff, maintain facilities and ensure the best educational materials are available for our babies and our toddlers.”
In addition, more moms and dads will qualify for the assistance program asĀ income limits are raised and the state is eliminating copays for families experiencing homelessness.
