Barbara A. Underwood, 66, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 11:15 am June 4, 2023, at her residence. She was born January 24, 1957 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late Donald Payne and JoAnn (Dodson) Lehde.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Crystal McVey and husband, Brandon of Macon, Illinois; grandchildren, Piper and Chase McVey of Macon, Illinois; and brother, Allan Payne of Mount Vernon, Illinois.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her stepmother, Marie Payne; step-father, Gene Lehde; and son, Thomas Underwood, Jr.
Barbara loved her dog, Roxie dearly and she was a devoted Christian, who prayed and read her bible daily.
