The City of Salem has announced that starting Monday city gas personnel will be changing gas meters at homes on East Park, East Williams, East Jennings, and the 1300 to 1500 blocks of North Broadway and North Rotan.
The process requires that the gas meter to the home be turned off while the switch is made. Gas Personnel will re-light pilot lights if you are home at the time of the replacement.
If you are not home, a note will be left at your door and you may call after hours to the police department (618) 548-2232, and gas employees will be dispatched to turn the gas back on and light pilot lights if needed.
