2023 06/09 – Minister Bret S. Copple

Minister Bret S. Copple, 64, of Centralia passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2023. He was born on January 12, 1959, the son of Hubert S. and Mary Joan (McGee) Copple in Centralia.

Survivors include his beloved family, his sister, Amy Qualls and husband Richard of Centralia; niece, Jessie Tolka and husband Levi of Salem; and great-nephews, Koltyn, Ryker, and Lynox.

Bret was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Donnie Copple; and his sister, Judy Minton.

Bret was called to be a minister, serving his congregation humbly at Herkimer Road Church of Christ in Utica, New York for 20 years before moving back home to Centralia. He was also grateful to deliver the encouraging message of the gospel during his ministry at prisons in New York. Bret appreciated traveling to new destinations and sharing the adventures of his travels with family and friends. He will forever be remembered for his unmatchable Boggle skills and was a self-proclaimed Boggle champion. Bret was well-read, enjoying the benefits of expanding his knowledge to maintain his position as the smartest person in the room. Bret lived his life for God, was a man of integrity, and was deeply loved by his family and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2023, at Calumet Street Christian Church in Centralia with Jonathan Schnautz officiating. Interment will follow at Boyd Cemetery. Friends and relatives are welcome to a visitation time from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the church in Centralia. Memorials may be made in Bret’s honor to the Donor’s Choice.
