The Historic Farmer’s Market and Music on the Porch will return to downtown Salem on Saturday, June 18th for the summer.

Becky Timmerman, who started the weekly event last year, has announced the Market will be from eight to noon in the parking lot behind her office building at 217 West Main Street.

“Every Saturday until the end of August.  We are doing it a little differently if you want to be a vendor go to the Facebook page, go to the website, and fill out an application.  If the vendor wants to be there every week it will be a reserved spot, if you just want to come every once in a while it will be first come first serve.  Should have a lot of fun.  We will have some old and new faces and some music.”

Timmerman says this year vendors will need to obtain a permit from the City of Salem and should contact the Marion County Health Department for a cottage food industry license.

Timmerman is looking for musical acts who would like to perform for a few hours during the Saturday markets. Applications for musicians are also available on the market’s website along with those for food truck vendors.

You can follow the Historic Farmer’s Market and Music on the Porch via their Facebook page and website for more information.  Here’s a link to the website and all of the application forms.
