Charles Owens, 71, of Alma, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born August 5, 1951, in Centralia, the son of Leck and Iris Logue. He married Patricia Hoard on April 4, 1969, and she survives in Alma.
In addition to his wife of 54 years, Patricia Owens of Alma, he is also survived by his four children: Brenda Fletcher, Brian Owens and Kelly, Scott Owens and wife Michelle, and Curtis Owens; 9 grandchildren: Aaron Wrentmore, Blake Fletcher and Amber, Armondo Fletcher and Madi, Gabrielle Owens and Brian, Ashely Owens and Jeffery, Allison Blankenship and Tyler, Taylor Owens and Josh, Dawson Owens and MaKenzie, and Addison Owens; 2 step-grandchildren: Katelyn Sides, and Trenton Sides; 8 great-grandchildren: Matthew Wilson, Gracie Wells, Abigail, Noah, and Olivia Fletcher, Payton and Hayden Huse, Penelope Rock and one baby girl on the way; one sister: Delores Osterholtz; and several nieces and nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents: Leck and Iris Logue, a brother: David Owens, and a sister: Nancy Halterman.
Charles worked for the Grain Elevator in Farina for 33 years and he also drove a school bus for South Central for 6 years. He was a member of the Kinmundy Christian Church. Charles enjoyed being outdoors, mowing his yard, and tinkering in his garage. He cherished the time he spent with his family, grandchildren, and friends. Charles will be remembered for being a jokester and always giving people a hard time.
Funeral Services for Charles Owens will be held Thursday, June 8, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Kinmundy Christian Church. Burial will follow at the Alma Cemetery in Alma. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 7, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kinmundy Christian Church and also on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family and the Kinmundy Christian Church and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Rankin Funeral Home at 310 North Broadway / P.O.
