The Marion County Sheriff’s Department reports a man who fled a traffic stop in Sandoval Wednesday afternoon at a high rate of speed eventually drove his car into a field and fled on foot.
After a deputy attempted the traffic stop, the suspect reportedly left westbound on US 50 at speeds that exceeded 100 miles per hour. The chase remained on US 50 until west of Shattuc where it continued on rural Clinton County roads until it reached the dead end of Crowder Road where the driver drove into a field,
abandoned the vehicle, and successfully ran on foot into a wooded area.
The car was towed from the scene.
The sheriff’s department believes they know who may have been driving, but so far no arrests have been made.
