Salem man pleads guilty to felony resisting a peace officer

A 35-year-old Salem man has pleaded guilty to felony resisting a peace officer in an incident that led to an injury to a Centralia Police officer.

David Huffine of East Church admitted to resisting being handcuffed in a July 2021 incident leading to the injury to the left hand of the officer.

Huffine was placed on two years probation, drug and alcohol evaluation with treatment, ordered to abstain from drugs with random testing, pay a $500 assessment, and ordered to pay a $250 DUI fee.

Huffine had fleeing and eluding police, DUI, illegal transportation of liquor, no insurance, and unlawful use of cannabis by a driver dismissed as part of the plea.
