Police Beat for Wednesday, June 1st, 2022

Salem Police arrested a 35-year-old Salem man for possession of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a suspended license, and on an outstanding Hamilton County warrant following a Tuesday night traffic stop.   Steve West of East Williams was taken to the Marion County Jail.

Centralia Police arrested 43-year-old James Garner of Adams Road in Kell for alleged aggravated battery.

Centralia Police took 50-year-old Sean Jones of North Elm in Centralia into custody for violation of bail bond.

42-year-old Kelly Schuchmann of D’Ann Drive in Centralia was arrested by Centralia Police on outstanding Clinton and Fayette County felony warrants, a Marion County traffic warrant, and a new charge of theft.   The Fayette County warrant for pending forgery, bad check, theft, and violation of bail bond has no bond.  The Clinton County warrant for a pending driving on revoked or suspended license charge has a bond of $20,000.  The Marion County traffic warrant has bond set at $5,000. bond and the Marion County warrant $5,000.   Schuchmann was taken to the Marion County Jail.

33-year-old Andrew Casner of Omega Road in Kinmundy was arrested by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies on an outstanding Marion County felony failure to appear warrant.   Bond is set at $20,000.

43-year-old Ronald Potter of Salem Mobile Home Park posted $1,000 cash bond and was released on an Effingham County felony warrant in a pending possession of methamphetamine case.

21-year-old Katlin Hollinsead of East 5th in Kinmundy was arrested by Centralia Police on an Effingham County misdemeanor warrant for a pending battery case.  She posted $500 cash bond and was released.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the theft of copper wire from a spool at a Citation Oil Company building on Selmaville Road in rural Salem.

The driver of a semi escaped injury when his rig ran off southbound I-57 at the 119-mile marker three miles north of Salem around 5:30 Wednesday morning.  The truck overturned, but the driver escaped without injury and the truck trailer remained intact.
