State Police say a 35-year-old Patoka man died in a side-by-side crash on the Marion-Fayette County Line west of Vernon early Tuesday morning.
The victim is identified as Ryan Tune.
State Police say a preliminary investigation indicates Tune was traveling southbound on 600th Street at the 400th Avenue intersection when he struck a deer in the roadway and left the roadway. Tune was ejected from the vehicle and succumbed to injuries caused by the crash. The side by side continued southbound into a tree line where it was later discovered.
The crash is believed to have occurred around 6:30 Tuesday morning but was not reported to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office until 8:18 Tuesday morning. Tune was pronounced dead on the scene.
