Memorial Day Services are planned for Monday morning in Salem, Centralia, and Patoka.
In Salem, the Memorial Day program will be held at eleven am at East Lawn Cemetery. The guest speaker will be US Army veteran Troy Williams who joined the US Army after graduation from Salem Community High School in 1989. The American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Sons of the American Legion will participate in the ceremony. The Little Egypt Brass will perform patriotic music.
You may park in the Landers parking lot or on the former Salem Flowers lot across the street on East Main. Crouse Funeral Home will sponsor a courtesy South Central Shuttle to operate from ten am to one pm from the American Legion at 1001 East Main to East Lawn Cemetery.
A reception will be held after the program at the American Legion Post 128 with appetizers and dessert provided by the ladies of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Isaac Hull DAR.
In Centralia, the Memorial Day program will be held at 11 Monday morning at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. The keynote speaker will be US Air Force veteran and current Centralia City Councilman Jeff Castellari. The program is sponsored by the Centralia VFW Post 2055, the American Legion Post 446, and the Vietnam Veterans.
In Patoka, a Memorial Day program will be provided by the Patoka American Legion at eleven Monday morning at the Patoka Cemetery. The speaker will be Vietnam Veteran Carl Jolliff.
