In 2a softball sectional semifinals yesterday at Gillespie it was Newton leading Freeburg 1-0 when they were rained out and will finish the game this afternoon. Also today at Carterville, Pinckneyville and Mt Carmel had their game moved to today.
In 3a regional semifinals at Highland, the Lady Bulldogs eliminated Centralia 3-0. Mt Vernon at home beat Effingham 9-6 and at Triad, Civic Memorial was winning 3-2 with Jerseyville when the game was suspended in the bottom of the fifth with 2 outs. They will resume their game today at 4pm.
