Police Beat for Thursday, May 26th, 2022

A 38-year-old Centralia man has been arrested by Wamac Police on multiple charges.  Steven Cody of South Pine was taken to the Marion County Jail for alleged possession of a controlled substance, possession of a hypodermic syringe, and driving on a suspended or revoked license.

A 29-year-old Centralia man was arrested by Centralia Police following a traffic stop.  James Watson III of North Maple Street was taken into custody for obstructing identification, driving on a revoked/suspended license, and on a Marion County felony warrant, and a Clinton County traffic warrant.   The Marion County warrant is for failure to appear for sentencing on a petition to revoke his probation for aggravated fleeing and resisting arrest.   Watson posted bond on all the charges and was released.

A 33-year-old Wamac man has been arrested on an outstanding Marion County felony warrant and outstanding Clinton County felony and misdemeanor warrants.  Nicholas Hatfield of Reserve Street was taken to the Marion County Jail in lieu of $17,500 bond on the three warrants.

31-year-old Rejika Peoples of South 21st Street in Mt. Vernon was arrested in Jefferson County on a Marion County traffic warrant.  She was later transferred to the Marion County Jail where she is being held in lieu of $2,500.

A 28-year-old Salem man, Zachary Arnold of South College, turned himself into the Marion County Jail on an outstanding Marion County traffic warrant.   He posted $500 cash bond and was released.
