By WJBD Staff May 26, 2022 | 8:34 AM

The Missoula Children’s Theatre Camp is returning to the Salem Community Theatre following a two-year absence due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Applications are now being taken for the camp and their production of the Little Mermaid.

The first day of camp and role auditions will be held on Monday, June 20th, from ten am to noon. Approximately 50 to 60 roles are available for local students. All students, grades 1st through 12th, are encouraged to complete an application and audition.

No advance preparation is necessary. Most students will rehearse approximately four hours and 15 minutes each day, Monday through Friday. The performances are scheduled for Saturday, June 25th, at 3:00 pm and 5:30 pm. Tickets will be on sale for $5 apiece.

The price for the one-week camp is $35 for children ages 7 and/or entering first grade and $50 for children entering second grade through age 18. Applications can be found on the Theatre Website, the Theatre Facebook page, or at Salem City Hall.   The application form is also available at the end of this story.

The production is part of the Missoula Children’s Theatre’s unique international touring project and is presented locally by The Salem Theatre and Cultural Center. The event is sponsored by Dr. David and Heather Knowles.
