A 54-year-old Centralia man was airlifted to a St. Louis Hospital for treatment Saturday afternoon after his pickup truck ran off the Selmaville Road, hit a natural gas riser, sheered a power pole off, and then hit a house.

Initial information from the Marion County Sheriff’s Department indicates Timothy Ramey of Ullman Road ran off the road for an unknown reason, and after hitting the gas riser and power pole ran into the corner of a home owned by Ruby Watson of the 3600 block of Selmaville Road.   The crash brought power lines down in the yard of the home.  Ramey was able to get out of the vehicle on his own.

Tri-County Electric was called to restore power to the area while Ameren responded to deal with the damaged gas riser.

The Salem Fire Protection District was also called out to assist.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department has not yet completed reports.  No information was immediately available on how much damage there was to the home.

The crash was reported around 2:20 Saturday afternoon.
