A 33-year-old Flora man had a bond set at $10,000 on charges brought against him in connection with a high-speed chase through Salem early Friday morning.

Cecorrey Finkley of 12th Street was charged with felony aggravated fleeing and eluding police for traveling at speeds greater than 21 miles per hour when he was fleeing Iuka Police.   He was also charged with driving on a suspended license, reckless driving, and speeding more than 35 miles per hour over the speed limit.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department reports the chase began when Iuka Police attempted to stop Finkley when he was clocked speeding 80 miles per hour on US 50 near Bannister Road east of Salem.   The chase came through Salem at speeds of up to 90 miles per hour before Finley went north on I-57 for about nine miles before pulling over and being taken into custody without incident.   The chase began around 1:45 Friday morning.

Finkley had the public defender appointed to represent him.  A preliminary hearing is set for June 2nd.
