The YMCA and City of Salem Recreation Director has announced the addition of two new recreation programs made possible by new facilities in Bryan Memorial Park.
Jed Casburn says new co-ed disc golf and sand volleyball leagues will be offered starting this summer.
“Disc golf has gotten more popular since we put it in the park. We had a really great turnout for the tournament. Some of the people that are helping me with disc golf we just decided to launch a program for ages 15 and up, it will be a co-ed league and we will start on June 9th and that will go 13 or 14 weeks. And then we will see if we want to do a Fall League.”
Casburn says registration is currently underway at Salem City Hall.
A six-person team sand volleyball program is also in the works, but Casburn is still finalizing details. He’ll announce when signup will begin for that program.
