SC Opens Softball Regional With Blowout Win….OPS Lady Eagles Season Ends

South Central opened up their regional at home with a 21-2 win over CHBC.  Lilly Malone had 3 hits including a double, home run and drove in 6 runs.  Taegan Webster had 2 hits including a home run and drove in 4, Brooklyn Garrett  3 hits including 2 doubles with 3 RBI, Laney Webster and Halle Smith 2 RBI each with RBI also from Jaylyn Michel, Kaitlyn Swift, Ella Watwood and Kyra Swift.  SC improves to 23-10 and will host the regional championship game on Friday against Altamont at Webster Field in Kinmundy.  Altamont nipped Clay City last night 2-0.

Yesterday, Odin/Patoka/Sandoval lost their regional opener to Valmeyer 6-2.  Carmen Wilderman, Hailey Lane, Makayla Gebke all had a hit while Trista Moore hit a 2-run homerun.  The Lady Eagles finish the season at 12-8.  Marissa 12-2 in six innings over Waterloo Gibault and will take on Valmeyer in the regional finals.

Also in 1a semifinals, Carlyle short-gamed New Athens 11-1 in six innings.  At Oblong it was Windsor over Oblong 8-1 and Hutsonville shutout Dieterich 9-0.  Casey shutout Neoga at Cumberland 13-0.

Tonight in 1a regional semifinals, Christ Our Rock will host Okawville, Nokomis plays Mulberry Grove at Bunker Hill, Galatia hosts Waltonville, Webber plays Edwards County at Wayne City followed by Grayville and Red Hill.
