The North Clay Cardinals improved to 26-5 on the season with a 13-3, 6-inning win over Waltonville. Bryton Griffy had a big day going 3-3 with a triple, 4 RBI and 2 runs scored. Collyn Ballard doubled along with Layton Dawkins and Logan Fleener. Brady Ingram finished 2-2 with 3 RBI. Ballard, Carson Burkett added RBI. Ballard was the winning pitcher going 4 innings allowing 5 hits and 1 earned run. North Clay will head to Breese to play the powerhouse Central Cougars today. These two teams met earlier this season with Central pulling out a 3-2 win at Louisville on May 4th.
Also yesterday, North Clay senior Donnie Zimmermann signed his letter of intent to play baseball for Mitch Koester and the KC Blue Devils.
