Salem Gets Late Inning Rally To Beat Oilers….JV Score 15 In the 1st To Finish Season With W

With the game tied at 3 in the bottom of the sixth, the Salem Wildcats would plate 3 runs to knock off visiting East Alton Wood River 6-3 to improve to 10-20 on the season.  Brogan Gregg doubled, Charlie Hunter drove in 3 runs and Salem also got RBI from Carter Rose, Hunter Daniels and Aden Susmena.  Isaak Williams had a hit and scored twice.  Gavin Zimmermann was the winning pitcher going 6 innings allowing 5 hits and 3 earned with 9 strike outs.  Tyler Tanner got the final inning of work for the save.  Salem will host Odin/Patoka/Sandoval today in a varsity only contest.

The Salem JV finished their year winning 6 of their last 9 to finish 9-9 as they easily blew out Wood River at the Little League Complex 18-2 with the Wildcats scoring 15 times in the opening inning.  Jalen Inlow doubled twice and drove in 4 runs, Ayden Rose added 2 RBI with RBI also from Nathan Paulson, Jackson Jarrett, Noah Nix, Aden Bass, Colten Starnes and Deytin Parker.  Keaton Gullion added a double and 2 runs scored.  On the mound, Rhett Detering got the start working 1 inning, Cody Beard worked the next 2 with Inlow getting the final 3 outs.  The season is over for coach Dakota Koehnke and the Salem JV with a 9-9 record.
