The SC Cougars and Father McGivney played a rematch of last year’s Class 1a state championship in a game played at Saint Louis University.
The Griffins scored 6 runs in the 2nd inning to hold off the Cougars this time 10-5. SC committed 2 errors that led to 4 unearned runs in the inning.
Spencer Johannes was the losing pitcher going 5 innings allowing 6 hits and 7 runs, but only 3 were earned, while striking out 4. Ethan Watwood tossed the final inning for SC.
Johannes also went 2-4 with 2 runs scored for SC, Chase Thompson singled and scored, Anthony Buonaura and Watwood also singled. Andrew Magnus and Brandt Hiestand scored Cougar runs.
