A 40-year-old Dieterich woman has pleaded guilty in Marion County Court Thursday to a felony charge of aggravated fleeing and eluding police following an April 15th high-speed chase that went from Sandoval to Central City and then north again to north of Sandoval on US 51.

Carla Segarra was placed on two years probation, fined $600, ordered to serve 60 days in the Marion County Jail with 21 days already served and undergo any recommended program, and abstain from drugs and alcohol with random testing.

Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies say speeds during the chase sometimes reached 100 miles per hour.  The chase ended when Segarra lost control when trying to slow for a curve and ran off the road into the ditch near Fairman Road.

She told deputies she fled because she thought she was wanted on a warrant, which turned out not to be the case.
