Breese Central scored 3 runs in the top of the sixth inning to nip North Clay 3-2 in a battle of 2 of the best small schools in the state of Illinois.
The Cardinals held a 2-0 lead after scoring a pair in the 2nd inning.
Logan Fleener drove in a run, Holden Clifton went 2-4 with a double, Carson Burkett had 2 hits, Brady Ingram also singled and Dakota Weidner added a run along with Daniel Warren.
Landon Geragosian hit the 3 run homer in the sixth inning to give Central the lead and eventually the win. He was also the starter going 4.2 allowing 5 hits and 2 runs.
Collyn Ballard worked 4 innings for North Clay, Alex Boose and Bryton Griffy also worked on the mound for the Cards.
