Centralia Police arrested two people for possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop Tuesday night at Poplar and McCord Street.  The driver, 54-year-old Bobby Ashford of Lynwood, IL was also arrested for driving on a revoked license, illegal transportation of liquor, and no insurance.  Fingerprint records were used to determine Ashford’s real name after he allegedly provided several false identifications.   The passenger, 56-year-old James Wallace of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is also being held on a Wisconsin Department of Corrections warrant for a probation violation.

21-year-old Anthony Dickerson of West Bond in Patoka was arrested at the courthouse on Tuesday for failing to take a drug test as required on a petition to revoke his probation on a prior conviction for aggravated battery to a police officer.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the theft of gas cans full of fuel from a pole barn in the 2600 block of Farthing Road in rural Odin.  Deputies were told a car pulled up to the house, took the cans, and left.  A suspect is being sought.
