Nicholas Easley is sworn in by Centralia City Clerk Kim Enke as his mother Lisa Easley holds the Bible.

The Centralia Police Department has sworn in Nicholas Easley as a probationary patrolman.

Easley is originally from Salem, is a graduate of Christ Our Rock High School, and has been a student in the Kaskaskia College Criminal Justice Program.   As part of that program, he has completed an internship at the Centralia Police Department.

Easley will leave for the Southwestern Illinois College Law Enforcement Academy on Wednesday to begin the 14-week training program.  When he graduates from the Academy, he will start his 12-week field training program at the Centralia Police Department to ready him for solo patrol.
