Prom is set at Salem Community High School Friday night. The theme this year is “Enchanted Night” and the colors representing the theme are sage and blush.
Queen candidates this year are Emma Tyberendt, Sydney Donoho, Mataya Petrea, Mallory Moore, and Emmaleigh Brandon. King candidates are Treyton Simcox, Alex Smith, Grant Purcell, Conner Teriet, and Steven Mulvaney.
Junior attendants are Kaley Blomberg and Rex Brashear, Madison Smith and Gage Eddings, Kenadie Hancock and Cole Johnson, Mykah Anderson and Andrew Tate, and Marissa Wooters and Levi Young.
Name Bearers are Landrey Rose the daughter of Kyle and Shelley Rose of Salem and Bo Lux, son of Tyler and Stacey Lux of Salem.
Prom is scheduled from eight to 11 Friday night. Doors will open to the public at seven pm. Vocal and instrumental performances will begin at nine, with coronation at 9:30 followed by the Grand March immediately following the coronation. Those providing special entertainment are Juniors Allyson Murphy and Teyah Cape and Seniors Mataya Petrea and Karley Heiple. Retiring Queen Makayla Becker will lead the coronation. Unfortunately, retiring King Julian Huggins will not be in attendance.
Spectators may buy reserved tickets for the gym’s chair seats for the night of prom in the Main Office from 7:30 am to 3:30 Monday through Friday of this week.
Ticket prices will be $5 for reserved chair seats. On the night of Prom any unsold reserved chair seat tickets will be sold at the door along with general admission for bleacher seats. The cost of bleacher seats is $3 per person.
As in past years, the school will prohibit any parent/spectator from walking on the gym floor during prom. Prom 2022 will be professionally videotaped by Wabash Communications and a DVD will be sold after Prom. Any individual who wishes to videotape on their own will NOT be allowed to use the school’s power outlets due to overloading of circuits.
