Indiana trucker injured when rig runs off I-57 north of Salem

A truck driver was injured when falling asleep and running off southbound I-57 seven miles north of Salem early Saturday morning.

State Police say after running off the road, the semi-driven by 59-year-old Robin Burns of Greenwood, Indiana, overturned.  Burns was able to get out of the truck on her own and was transported by ambulance to Salem Township Hospital for treatment of injuries.

The Salem Fire Protection District was called to the scene to assist.

Burns was ticketed for improper lane usage.

The crash occurred at 2:20 Saturday morning.
