The Future Wildcat Meet was held yesterday at SCHS for Salem High feeder schools. The Franklin Park Bobcats finished with 44 Personal Records on a cool, windy and tough day to run.
In the boys competition, Franklin Park finished with 147 points followed by Raccoon with 64, Selmaville 40 and Iuka finished with 8. Taking 1st for Salem was Noah Timm in the shot, Morgan Mickens in the discus, Holden Richardson pole vault, Alex Spencer hurdles, Hunter Malan in the 400, Robby Shober in the 1600, Kyler King 6th grade 100, Trey Clark 7th Grade 100, Angel Salgado won the 8th grade 100 and 200. The 7th grade 4×200 team of Payton and Avery Gullion, Clark and Madden Thompson PR’d as did the 4×400 team of Payton and Avery Gullion, Malan and Shober. Also winning was the 6th grade 4×100 team of Troy Keele, Keaton Smythe, Scout Puricelli and Kyler King as well as the varsity 4×200 team of Caylan Patterson, Eli Lograsso, Hudson Gambil and See.
Finishing 2nd for Salem were Mickens in the shot, Clark in the discus and 200, Salgado in the long jump, Avery Gullion tied with Austin Wooldridge of Selmaville clearing 5-foot in the high jump with Woolridge taking 1st due to misses. Isiah Finley was 2nd in the pole vault with a PR of 7-foot, Spencer 2nd in the 800 and 1600 and Puricelli in the 6th grade 100.
The Girls event had Franklin Park finish with 145 points followed by Selmaville 52, Raccoon 30 and Iuka 17. Winning events for Salem were Hannah Smith in the discus, Kinsey Jarrett long jump, Finley Puricelli the high jump and 200, Ruthie Hays pole vault, Addi Bullard 8th grade 100 and hurdles, Jordan Kessler 400, Kendall Zimmermann 1600 and 800, Brylee Pennypacker the 7th grade 100. Maddi Dulaney set a new Future Wildcat Meet Record with her win in the 6th grade 100m. The 6th Grade 4×100 team of Maddi Dulaney, Kourtney Garrison, Addi Douglas and Alison Thurman set a meet record as well.
2nd place finishes for Salem included Pennypacker discus, Brianna Redenbo long jump and 200, Ella Robinson 1600, Aubrey Bandy pole vault, Kourtney Garrison 6th grade 100, Emily Runyon 7th grade 100 and Marah Johnson 2nd in the 8th grade 100 and shot put.
