The Salem Wildcats have played better baseball as of late, winning 5 of their last 7 games, including beating Robinson and Newton over the weekend to run their record to 7-12 on the season. Salem will get a very tough test today returning to Cahokia play to take on the state’s top-ranked 2a team, undefeated Breese Central at SCHS Field starting with the first pitch at 4:30. Salem is 2-3 in the Cahokia.
The SC Cougars are riding high after winning their Wood Bat Tournament over the weekend held at Flora due to renovations at Lions Field. In doing so, SC knocked off powerhouse North Clay in a thriller 3-2 on Aidan Dodson’s walk-off single in the 7th. Both teams will meet again for a rematch today at Louisville.
Christ Our Rock fell to Maryville Christian 12-2. In the loss for the Stallions, Brayden Such had a run and RBI and Peltas also drove in a run.
