A 17-year-old Farina man was killed in a single vehicle crash in southern Effingham County Monday afternoon.
The victim is identified as Cody Blair.
The Effingham County Sheriff’s Department reports that Blair was eastbound on 300th Avenue west of Mason when his vehicle left the road, crossed a private drive, entered the roadside ditch, went airborne and rolled several times down the road eventually coming to rest in the ditch. Blair was ejected during the crash. Effingham County Coroner Kim Rhodes indicated medical issues may have contributed to the crash.
Toxicology samples and medical records will be examined as the investigation continues.
The crash occurred at 1:47 Monday afternoon.
