Salem Fire Protection District officials say a report of a fire in a wall at the Madison Stanley home in the 200 block of South Puryn Street turned out to be a problem confined to an electrical outlet.
Fire officials say the outlet was discolored and hot to the touch but had not yet caught fire. Firemen pulled the outlet and covered the wires to eliminate any future problems.
The fire call came in around seven Saturday night.
