Cora Sue Frances Henderson Williams, age 85 currently resided at the home of her eldest son Robert, in Odin Illinois. She passed away on April 6, 2023 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis Missouri.
Sue was born and raised in Liberty County Florida and resided in the Florida panhandle most of her entire life.
The funeral services will be held on April 14, 2023 in Bristol Florida, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Bishop Jim Deason will be officiating. Visitation will be held at 10AM with the service to immediately follow at 11AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Bristol Florida. Burial will follow the funeral at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Liberty Co. Florida.
Sue,as she was affectionately called by family and friends, was born in Bristol Florida on August 9, 1937. She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She attended grade and High school in Liberty County Florida.
Sue met the Love of her life Ronald L. Williams when she went to a party with Ronalds cousin. It must have been love at first sight because Ronald informed his cousin that she may have came to the party with you but; she is leaving with me. Sue married Ronald Williams on April 22, 1954 in Bainbridge Georgia. Their union was Blessed by two sons, Robert and Randy. They were married 67 years prior to Ronalds death on September 14, 2021.
Sue and Ronald purchased and ran Indian Springs. A recreational area in Gadsden County Florida from 1966 to 1986. Where area residents could swim, roller skate, play pinball, video games and pool. She loved getting to know the area youth and prided that Indian Springs was a safe place for the youth to be. She enjoyed gardening, canning and loved the water and especially enjoyed swimming. She was an active member in the Relief Society. A women’s organization of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for many, many years.
Sue is Survived by her sons Robert and his wife Dana Williams and Randy and his wife Teresa Williams. Grandchildren: Raymond, Kimberly and her husband Andy Thorup, Ryan and his wife Cami Williams, Robbie, Lindsay and her husband Matt Wood, Zach and Fiance Amanda, step grandchildren Chris and his wife Amy Smith, Matt Smith, Melissa and Chelsae and husband Matthew Medley and 15 great grandchildren, Her Brother Roy Strickland and multiple nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her dear husband Ronald Williams. Her parents Edward Leighton Henderson father and Vernie Strickland mother and a brother Larry Strickland. She is loved and will be missed by all.
