The Salem Wildcats split their varsity double header at home with Teutopolis on Saturday winning the opener 5-4 on a Isaak Williams walk-off hit. Salem trailed 4-1 headed into their final at bat when they would plate 4 runs for the walk-off win. Williams drove in 2 with RBI also from Josh Powless and Gavin Zimmermann. Nick Gregg was the winning pitcher going all 7 innings scattering 8 hits and allowed 3 earned runs.
Salem dropped the 2nd game 3-0. The Cats scraped together 5 hits with 2 from Brogan Gregg. Williams and Kam Wilkins were the pitchers for the Cats.
Salem’s JV swept TTown on Saturday at the Complex winning the first game 5-1. Aden Bass drove in 2 with RBI also from Noah Nix who went 3-4, Ayden Rose and Rhett Detering. Detering was the winning pitcher going 6.1 allowing just 2 hits and no earned runs with 10 strikeouts.
Salem won the 2nd game 8-7. Bass and Colten Starnes drove in 2 runs for Salem with RBI also from Nix, Ryan Detering and Nathan Paulson.
The SC Cougars split their double header over the weekend in Breese. They beat Casey Westfield 4-3. Anthony Buonaura drove in 2 runs with I from Beau Jolliff and Chase Thompson. Ethan Watwood was the winning pitcher with Buonaura getting the save.
SC dropped the 2nd game to Breese Central 12-3. Aidan Dodson took the loss allowing 5 earned runs in 3 innings. SC got RBI from Thompson and Jolliff.
North Clay is 11-1 after a 10-0 win over Marshall. They will host Cisne today.
