The Marion County Farm Bureau has announced they will offer up to $5,000 in “Community Impact Grants” that are designed to help many great ideas for community-based projects to become reality.
Farm Bureau Manager Brad Conant says the program is designed to identify various projects that will improve our communities and create partnerships with other groups and organizations to make those projects a reality. He says examples of eligible organizations in Marion County could include schools, civic organizations, churches, 4-H clubs, FFA chapters, fraternities, sororities, etc. Project ideas could include efforts like upgrades to community buildings, spaces and playgrounds, needed equipment for 4-H clubs, FFA Chapters, or other school clubs/organizations; and other community-based projects that could use additional funding. Conant says projects with lasting impacts will be favored over short-term projects.
With everything that the last couple of years have brought us, Conant says they are looking forward to ideas to improve the communities that we live and work in. He’s hoping groups will begin working on ideas now ahead of the formal application project that will be announced later this spring.
