The Salem Lady Wildcats fell to 4-5 on the season and 0-3 in the Cahokia Conference with their 10-0 shutout loss at Columbia. Lilly Blagoue doubled for the only Salem hit in the game. Bre Thruman reached on an error for the other base runner. Salem will host Olney today at Tully Park.
The SC Lady Cougars will host their own tournament over the weekend. Last night, SC beat Dieterich 8-2. Taegan Webster drove home 2 runs, Ella Watwood had 3 RBI with her 2 hits. Also driving in runs were Kaitlyn Swift, Laney Webster, Lilly Malone. SC is 6-3 overall and 1-1 in the NTC. They will take on New Athens in tomorrow’s opening game.
