The US Marshal’s Service forced their way into a home in the 1200 block of South Pine Street in Centralia early Thursday morning looking for a man wanted in Champaign County.
29-year-old Joseph Carpenter Moore of Champaign was allegedly found hiding in the home after 30-year-old Megan Caraway allegedly told the US Marshal he was not there.
Moore was taken into custody on two failure to appear warrants for manufacture or delivery of cannabis. Bond on the warrants is set at $200,000. Caraway was charged with felony concealing or aiding a fugitive. Both were taken to the Marion County Jail pending further court action.
Centralia and Central City Police officers provided perimeter support.
Due to the close proximity to Centralia Junior High School, Centralia Police Chief Greg Dodson says the operation was carried out at seven am.
