Two Mt. Vernon residents were injured in a rollover crash on Richview Road near I-57 during the noon hour on Tuesday.
Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Bullard says a tire is believed to have blown on a pickup truck being driven by 58-year-old Rick Kiselewski of East Bunny Road in Mt. Vernon causing it to roll over multiple times. During the process, a passenger 51-year-old John Brooks of Welkins Street in Mt. Vernon was ejected through the window of the truck.
Both Kiselewski and Brooks were taken to SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment. Brooks was later transferred to a St. Louis Hospital.
Jefferson Fire Protection District firefighters and Litton’s Ambulance were both called to the scene to assist the victims.
The crash occurred at 12:36 Tuesday afternoon.
