A 31-year-old Centralia man has been sentenced to 30 months in prison for theft of a pair of shoes, set of keys and wallet.
The theft charge against Cameron Jones of South Perrine was a felony due to a prior conviction. A charge of burglary to the residence in the 400 block of East McCord where the items were allegedly taken was dropped as part of the plea.
Centralia Police at the time said officers and those in the area were attempting to break up a dog fight outside the home when Jones allegedly kicked in the door to the residence. Jones claimed he was looking for his uncle, but the home owner had no idea who he was when he returned home.
Police noticed Jones was wearing the shoes after the owner had reported them and the wallet missing. The wallet was later found left in the back seat of a squad car that had taken him to the police station for questioning.
After getting out of prison, Jones was ordered to serve one year parole. He was given day for day good time credit.
