The Salem Wildcats are scheduled to play Benton today, but the weather does not look good today. Also this week, Salem is set to travel to Charleston tomorrow before hosting Centralia on Thursday.
The SC Cougars dropped their season opener to Fairfield 2-1. For the Mules, southpaw Wabash Valley commit McGwire Taylor struck out 15 in the win. The Cougars outhit Fairfield 3-1 as Aidan Dodson went 3 innings allowing 1 hit and one unearned run. Spencer Johannes added 1.1 innings with Anthony Buonaura going the final 1.2. Andrew Magnus drove in the only SC run with an RBI double and Chase Thompson singled and scored.
Christ Our Rock fell to Maryville Christian 4-3. The Stallions scored 3 in the top of the 1st but Maryville scored 2 in the 3rd and 2 more in the 5th for the win. Brayden Such and Colton Oeize had RBI for the Stallions.
North Clay is 2-1 on the season following yesterday’s 12-1 win over Neoga in 5 innings. Holden Clifton earned the win.
Odin/Patoka/Sandoval beat Cisne 12-5. Drew Belcher was the winning pitcher and also added 2 hits including a triple and 3 RBI at the plate. Caleb Calhoun had 2 hits with a double and 2 RBI, Colin Haines and Drew Hill also drove in 2 runs each.
