The regionals are finishing up in the SIJHSAA with the state tournaments being held next Saturday. In Class L on Monday, Hamilton County will host DuQuoin for their regional title.
The Franklin Park Lady Bobcats know they will open up their state tournament at Pinckneyville at 10am in the Secondary Gym taking on the winner from Mt Carmel between Carmi or Mt Carmel. Mascoutah and the winner of Region 3 play at the same time in Thomas Gym. The bottom bracket will see Carterville and Massac County and Waterloo taking on O’Fallon Carriel.
In Class S regional finals, Albers Damiansville beat Breese at Albers in 2-sets to advance to the state tournament. TSJ Nashville won the Hoffman regional beating Irvington/North Wamac in 3 sets. Woodlawn beat Kell Farrington to win the Woodlawn Regional 25-18, 25-14. Trinity Lutheran knocked off Patoka to win the St Peter Regional 25-17, 25-13.
The Class S state tournament is at Herrin. The day on Saturday will see opening round games with Desoto against St John Catholic, Thompsonville plays Holy Childhood Mascoutah, TSJ Nashville against New Horizon, St Rose against Region 1 winner. Woodlawn will play the winner from Region 2, St John Chester and Trinity Lutheran, Albers takes on Cisne and Summersville plays Pinckneyville.
In Class M regional finals, Nashville won their own regional beating Sparta in the finals 25-11, 25-16. At Breese, the hosts beat Carlyle 25-20, 25-15 to win the regional finals.
The Class M state tournament will be held at Nashville High. Chester opens with Aviston, NCOE plays the winner of Region 5, Goreville takes on Johnston City and Nashville will play Breese.
