The Salem Wildcats look to showcase their talent at the PBR Kickoff Classic today in the Metro East. Salem will open with Kaneland at 10am at Belleville East High before heading to GCS Stadium at 2 when they take on Lasalle/Peru.
Yesterday, Mount Vernon improved to 2-0 with a 14-2 rout of 3rd ranked Normal U-High at the PBR. The Rams will take on Rochester today at 12:30 and Washington at 3pm at Belleville East.
The North Clay Cardinals fell to Class 4a Lisle Benet Academy by a 2-1 final. The Cardinals bounced back and led Pleasant Plains in their 2nd game 3-0 in the bottom of the 4th when the rain came and canceled the rest of the game. The Cardinals are set to host Olney today.
The Class 1a defending state champion SC Cougars open up their season today at Windsor/Stew Stras.
